September 28, 2020 Dear Parents, Our community has recently seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. Over this past week, positive cases increased from 25 to 42. Based on this data, it is apparent that this virus is here and spreading. As of now, most of the cases that have been reported are in the Centennial Park area. Our desire is to keep our schools open for on-campus instruction. We are asking our staff, students, and parents to be mindful of activities on-campus as well as off-campus that might cause the spread of the virus. At school, we will continue our increased sanitization of our classrooms. Staff and students will remain home when not feeling well. Social distancing measures will continue to be implemented. At this time, we have not had any positive cases reported to us from our staff and students. Going forward, if we are informed of a COVID-19 positive case in our school, our protocol will be to have the affected individual and potentially their classmates quarantine at home for one week. If a staff member notifies us that they have been diagnosed as positive, the staff member along with any students with possible exposure to the ill staff member will be asked to quarantine at home for one week. If symptom free, they will be able to return to on-campus classes the following week. Students are expected to continue instruction remotely at home during this time. Any student or staff member who tests positive should plan on remaining home for two weeks. Thank you for your support during these tumultuous times. As we have historically seen, circumstances can change quickly. This is our plan today. We may have another plan tomorrow. We will continue to work closely with the Mohave County Health Department. By working together, we can protect each other and keep our schools open. Sincerely, Ms. Carol Timpson Superintendent
