El Capitan's Volleyball Team beat Antelope high school in the first playoff game of the season moving them to the state quarter finals.  On Saturday, the lady eagles took 2nd place in the super regional conference in Gallup, NM. This team has grit, toughness, and they don't quit. Go Eagles!

ESSER Funding ImprovementsThe District is please to announce several new construction projects that will be funded through the ESSER grant funds.  For Cottonwood Elementary, the north auditorium will be renovated providing a cafeteria, music room, and library.  Once these renovations are complete, the preschool center will incorporate our existing cafeteria into the preschool program.  The preschool center will also receive some needed upgrades, such as window replacement, HVAC improvements, and stucco repair. El Capitan will build two new 50’ x 100’ metal buildings to be used for trades:  Construction Trades and Welding.  Also approved is a 175’ x 175’ metal multi-purpose building that will be used for physical education classes, athletics, and school events.
