March 16, 2020
Dear Parents,
We want to that this opportunity to keep you updated on the state of education at our district. Per Governor Ducey’s executive order, all Arizona schools have been shut down from March 16th to March 27th. Governor Ducey is encouraging families to stay at home and not gather in social settings. Today, the CDC increased that recommendation to avoid any social situation where 10 or more people will be congregating. At this time, there have been no identified cases in Mohave County. This school closure measure is designed to prevent the rapid increase of cases in order to give the health care industry adequate time to prepare.
As this pandemic develops, schools have been instructed to be flexible. We currently have a two week closure. However, it is possible that the closure could be extended. As a staff, we are preparing to continue instruction remotely while the schools are shut down.
Our schedule this week will be:
- Monday, Mar 16th No School
- Tuesday, Mar 17th Parent Teacher’s Conferences
- Wednesday & Thursday, March 18th & 19th Spring Break
Beginning on March 23rd
We will begin our home based instruction. During Parent Teacher’s conferences, the teachers will be advising you on the method they will use to deliver instruction to your students at home. Teachers must have contact with each parent. This can be done by visiting their classroom or connecting with them through email or text.
It is our hope that this crisis will pass and that we can finish our school year. We will continue to update you as we receive more information.
Thank you,
Ms. Carol Timpson
Superintendent
